4020190031 Electron accelerators and nanospectroscopy for energy relevant materials
Digital- & Präsenz-basierter Kurs
- classroom language
- DE
- aims
- In this seminar, we want to discuss electron accelerators as synchrotron radiation sources (generation) and methods and techniques for the manipulation of energy-relevant materials (usage). In particular methods that can be realized at synchrotron radiation sources like Bessy II.
In the seminar, students will prepare presentations on the function of electron accelerators as synchrotron radiation sources and the production, characterization and use of new / current energy-relevant functional materials.
- requirements
- Interest in electron accelerators, synchrotron radiation sources, nanospectroscopy, and energy-related materials.
- structure / topics / contents
- * How electron accelerators work as synchrotron radiation sources
* Approaches to increase the brilliance (Multi Bend Achromat)
* Free electrons laser as a source of coherent radiation
* Photo-injectors as a source of high-brilliance electron beams
* Methods for accelerating and manipulating electron beams
* New materials for photovoltaic applications
* Modern thin film manufacturing methods
* Multilayer materials
* Transparent semiconducting oxides
The participants of the seminar shape the topic selection and depth themselves.
