- This seminar (series) aims to show the use of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) in the study of materials for energy storage, transport, energy conversion and catalysis. Some of the topics covered will be:
Two-dimensional materials for energy storage and conversion applications;
Electron energy-loss spectroscopy techniques for studying transport properties in nanomaterials;
In situ and operando techniques to capture active states of catalytic materials and dynamical behaviour of catalysts;
tracking chemical and physical interactions over time in the electron microscope;
on-purpose and unwanted electron beam interactions with the sample.
